WELCOME:

The Gestalt Institute of Austin
(G.I.A.) is a federated association of Gestaltists who are trained in the classical techniques of Gestalt theory and are engaged in the professional training and supervision of students.  Each G.I.A. Faculty member is committed to helping others grow through the insights gained by personal awareness.

In addition, G.I.A. Faculty conduct both formal individual and group Gestalt training, and informal (community based) Gestalt classes and workshops for personal growth and development.

UPDATE:  GESTALT  READING  GROUP:

Dr. Michael Haney, GIA faculty member, is continuing to facilitate a successful Gestalt reading group in Austin.  Michael notes that: "The Gestalt therapy reading group meets for an hour and half, usually on Sunday afternoons. Our purpose is to support and stimulate each other's interests in, and on-going growth and development with, the Gestalt approach, by focusing on reading and discussing theory, and engaging in dialogue about our experiences with the Gestalt approach. We are now currently reading "Thoughts without a Thinker,"  and will resume Sunday, December 7th  - 4 p.m. at our usual spot, the Cafe at Central Market North.  All who are interested in the Gestalt approach are welcome". For further information, regarding reading particulars and group location, please contact Michael Haney by email.

Please note: Although G.I.A. seeks to be responsive to requests for help, please understand that we are NOT a crisis line and we are NOT an emergency psychological or mental health resource. If you are in crisis and need urgent psychological help, we strongly encourage you to contact your local community emergency services immediately.
