G.I.A. Board of Advisors:

Since its founding in 1998, the Gestalt Institute of Austin has been assisted by a number of interested individuals.  A number of years ago a select Board of Advisors was assembled to provide wisdom and insight.  We are pleased to acknowledge the contribution of the following members of the original G.I.A. Board of Advisors:

Anne Teachworth: Anne is an internationally known Gestaltist who is the founding Director of the Gestalt Institute of New Orleans / New York.  Anne trained extensively with Laura Perls and co-presented workshops with Laura in New York.  A creative and innovative therapist, Anne is a true Artist of Therapy.  In addition to her many years of working in the Gestalt community, she pioneered the field of Gestalt Psychogenetic Therapy and she presents internationally at major professional conferences.  Her foundational and signal book on Psychogenetics and Couples Counseling is aptly titled: Why We Pick the Mates We Do.

Randal Churchill: Randal has served for many years as the Director of the Hypnotherapy Training Institute in Santa Rosa, California. He and well known therapist, Marleen Mulder, hold extensive classes in San Francisco (Corte Madera - Marin County) throughout the year. Randal has received international acclaim for his creative and comprehensive therapy and teaching skills. A warm, intuitive, and highly supportive therapist, he is originator of Hypnotic Dreamwork™ which is deeply rooted in Gestalt Theory. He has been a pioneering leader for over 30 years in the field of Gestalt therapy with specializations in: hypnotic regression therapy, advanced ideomotor methods, and hypnotherapy.  Randal is the author of the highly acclaimed text: Become The Dream which covers the integration of Gestalt dreamwork and clinical hypnotherapy.

Daniel Rosenblatt, Ph.D.: Daniel is a long time Gestalt practitioner in New York City.  He studied psychology at Harvard and Cambridge. He was trained in Gestalt Therapy by Laura Perls. After working as a scientist in psychology for many years he established his private practice as a psychotherapist in New York City.  Daniel is fellow of the New York Gestalt Institut and he also served as president of the institute.  An internationally known trainer, Daniel has conducted Gestalt workshops and training groups in the U.S., in Europe, Australia and Japan. His books are considered "classics" in the field of Gestalt Therapy and include:  Opening Doors: What Happens in Gestalt Therapy and, The Gestalt Therapy Primer, and Your Life is a Mess (and What to Do About It).
